First Day in Haiti

After toughing out the small plane ride from Miami to Cap Haitian, I was
immediately immersed into their culture. Walking out of the tiny airport, I
was shocked to see the large group of people that were waiting and wanting
to help. Payot stopped them though. We then rode throughout Cap in the back
of a truck and it hit me that poverty and sorrow were making their presence felt
here. I quickly learned that the city was a much cleaner area then on previous
visits. Everyone was making quick comments about the heat so God blessed us
with a rain shower that soaked everyone in the back of the truck. I am
praying that God shows me something this week through anything that I may
encounter.
