Today GOD broke our hearts for what breaks HIS heart. Today was orientation day and a welcome surprise, Mary Kamau came to welcome us, she is feeling much better. We had a very thorough video and introduction by Raphael and then a “See, Feel, and Smell tour of Area 1 next to Pangani center. This included home visits with prayer for the family and especially touching was the children running to greet us with “how are you” (their standard greeting) and “take my picture.
Then after a washup and lunch we had a tour of the center which included the training areas for Beads, sewing and tailoring, beauty shop, and computers, and the schools from Pre-school to grade 5. What a warm welcome the children had for us. The staff in each of the areas appeared to be very well organized, and caring.
Then SHOPPING at the Bead and Sewing/Tailoring rooms to buy items made by the people in the training classes and the Production room.
The lesson learned today was that HOPE is in CHRIST and not in things.
