Went back to Bondeni for the 2nd day of teaching. We were greeted by the staff with Chai Time. Chai in English means tea. It is a custom by Kenyans to provide Chai for their guests as a way of saying, “Welcome, we are glad you are here”. Chai tea is served twice a day (mid-morning and early afternoon) and is a mixture of milk, water and tea leaves. It is served with samosa-a beef, pepper and vegetable fried pastry and/or chapati-a fried flour and sugar bisquit. After Chai time team presented the theme tubs: Wild Animals, Time, Matter and The Workshop, familiarizing the teachers with the tub contents and unit objectives. The afternoon was spent observing classes and giving teaching strategies and feedback Our day was truly BLESSED.
