The Wind Beneath our Wings

Every time I prepare to lead a trip back to Haiti, I experience the emotions of excitement and anxiety.  I am excited to once again see my friends and fellow Christians in Caracol.  I am anxious about being an effective leader as well as feeling a bit unworthy.  Yet, almost immediately, these feelings are countered by the Holy Spirit confirming that God has gone ahead of us on this trip, and it’s about His plan and purpose, not ours.  He is our source of strength and purpose; He is indeed the wind beneath our wings.  No worries….

We have a team of four on our way to northeast Haiti: Lawanda, Marcia, Christina and myself.  Yes, I am the only guy on the trip, but I am traveling with some awesome sisters in Christ.  Lawanda has already ministered to me by being completely open and at peace; ready to follow wherever God is leading.

Tonight we spend the night in Florida.  Saturday, we hop on a turbo prop plane to Cap Hatien, Haiti to meet up with Pastor Payot.
