Nicaragua Special Needs Mission Trip Day 2

Waking up well rested this morning was great knowing we had a wonderful breakfast ahead of us at La Quinta. After breakfast we got the crew loaded onto buses to head out to the church for our evangelism and prayer service for the parents of the special needs students. The service started with pastor Oscar leading us in worship with a few songs that we all sang together. Theresa then went up and spoke to the parents about our armor of God and how we can all come together with prayer. Over the last 40 days, the team has shared the responsibility of fasting in preparation for this trip and its focus on evangelism. The power of the Lord came through today as Theresa and the rest of the team led us in a skit and activity focusing on the power of prayer. What a wonderful experience.

Not only did we have an amazing experience during the evangelism and prayer group, but we also got to meet all of our sponsor students and head out to Pizza Hut for lunch. All of the students had a wonderful time at lunch with their sponsors and they were so excited to finally get to see them. After lunch, we were surprised with the news that we got to take our sponsor students on a boat ride out on the lake. The lake was very rough, but it was great bonding time nonetheless. It was such a blessing to meet all of our sponsor students! Their gratitude and kindness made a big impression on us and was definitely a very humbling experience.

We finished the day ready for dinner and some quality sleep – what a day!

Please keep our team in your prayers as we continue to work hard tonight to prepare for an extremely busy day tomorrow!
