Today was day 6 of our trip here in Nicaragua. We started the day off with a devotion by Josh Graves, he put together a very applicable devotion discussing the activity of prayer. After the devotion Juan Carlos named off the list of the students coming with us to our sponsorship outing, to my surprise my “nica buddy” Leonel had been given permission to go to the zoo with us. Needless to say, I was ecstatic to get the chance to see my brother in Christ one last time.
After getting the list we headed over to Ray Solomon to pick up the sponsorship kids. We all crammed into the very hot and cozy van and headed to the zoo of Nicaragua. When we arrived at the zoo we got a chance to see the immense population of exotic animals, literally in arms length. After the zoo we headed to lunch where we got some very well deserved food. After our fantastic pizza we headed back to Ray Solomon to drop off our sponsor kids, we had to say our sad goodbyes.
After that emotionally draining experience we headed back to La Quinta, where we got to relax and eat dinner. Right after dinner we headed to the church of Ciudad Sandino, at the church we took part in an amazing worship time with the people of the church. Following the worship service we heard a moving message about the people of Nicaragua. After the message we had to say our goodbyes to the people of Ciudad Sandino. Tonight was a true display on the effect that the Nicaraguans had on us, and the effect that we left on them.
I would say that the best part of the day was the smile Tyler put on his sponsor child’s face, there was never a time that Tyler and his new found friend weren’t happy to be in each others company. I have been truly blessed to have the opportunity to be on a trip with real godly men and women. Can’t believe this week is already coming to a close. It has been such an unbelievable week!
